Instinctively,
dogs want a personal territory and safe, secure comfort zone of
a Dog Cage of their own to fulfill their need to "den".
Dogs prefer to keep their sleeping areas clean and dry. A Dog Cage offers a positive solution to house-training and minimizes
destructive behavior. This is your dog's bedroom.
We offer both wire
and soft-side Dog Cage. A wire Dog Cage is best if you
are using your Dog Cage primarily at home. A soft-side
Dog Cage work best if you need to take your Dog Cage with you
when traveling, vacationing or just running around town although
they can also be used at home as well.
A
Dog Cage is a multi-purpose dog training tool that can be used for:
- Housetraining/Crate Training
Take the puppy
outside after each nap or meal. Do not play with him until
he has done his business. If he hasn't "done
his business" within
about 10 minutes, take him back inside and put him in the Dog Cage. Repeat the above routine in 15 minutes. Remember,
no play until the puppy
does his business and lots of praise and a food treat. Puppies learn to "Hold it" when they
are in the Dog Cage and if they go to the bathroom in the
Dog Cage they can't get away from it. They do not like that.
So, they learn to Hold it when in the Dog Cage.
Playpen for puppies when you're not home.
If
you need to leave your home, you should place your puppy in the Dog Cage. A puppy
that's crated will not chew the furniture or wet the floor when your
out. If he has already wet the carpet or chewed the
furniture, do not put
him back in the Dog Cage as punishment. You want your puppy
to love and feel safe in the Dog Cage. After
the puppy is housebroken, leave the Dog Cage
open during the day. You'll find that the puppy will nap in
the Dog Cage by choice. You can continue to put
the puppy in Dog Cage when your away
from the home as long
as you don't leave them
confined too long or they start think of the Dog Cage
as punishment.
