Hello,
I am emailing to ask about the use of
your product in a dog. I have a 12 year old german shepherd
mix that developed demodectic mange last fll. Its been
about a year now. You are probably not familiar with
that disease in dogs but its a disease related to a
suppressed immune system especially in older dogs. Its
generally a puppy disease that clears itself. A mite
that invades the hair follical and then causes infections
is what the disease is. Noramlly a healthy dogs immune
system can fight these mites of but for whatever reason,
they stop being able to do this and the mites take over.
Its not the typical mange you would think of with dogs
and its not even contagious.
There are 3 methods used to try to fight
this disease. One a chemical dip called Mitaban that
I really dont want to put on my dog especially at his
age. It has severe side effects. The other is the use
of Ivermectin which is not able to be used safely in
border collies which he is probably the other half of.
The third is a daily heartworm pill which I started
him on originally but it was causeing liver damage.
Image that! A pill supposed to be given once a month
for heartworm and they want to use it daily.
So I have ben trying to fight this naturally
by boosting his immune system with supplements. Just
about any herb, vitamin, colostrum that can boost the
immune system I have used for him but I am slowly losing
the battle. Eventually it may very well be the reason
he is put to sleep. Not long ago, thats what happened
to dogs diagnosed with this disease.
The reason I come to you for help is that
typically for an older dog to get this his immune system
is weakened from an underlying cause such as thyroid
problems, liver problems or even cancer. Bloodtests
have not been able to find anything as recent as this
past sunday. So what scares me is that maybe its cancer
somewhere. They havent looked for it though. With your
product being made to help protect and stop cancer and
boost the immune system, it would seem like a possible
option. Boosting his immune system though seems to be
paramount in fighting this disease. Cancer is just a
possibility that I may be looking at.
Not knowing whats in the product I cant
safely give it to him. Im not worried about the pricing
because like I said, with everything else I am buying
for him, it may be cheaper! Its easy to say just try
it but I was wondering what your thoughts on this were.
I guarantee you there are bunch of dog owners out there
that fight this disease and are so frustrated as I am.
I really dont want to dip my dog in this Mitaban stuff.
Its flammable and will melt plastic!! I would appreciate
any input on my problem that you can offer me.
